Brian Snelgar's father ran a Holmere Sawmill at Holmere Bungalow and then he/Brian started Holmere Transport, Brian driving lorries mostly at night "to avoid inconveniencing other motorists". When I visited on the 30th April 2018 there were several of the Holmere Transport lorries around the site, with the telephone number 540 on the side, and I'm pretty sure I remember them being parked on what is now the Whiteparish Garage site after I moved to the village in 1983.
